News came in a few weeks ago about the latest Nokia N95 8gb firmware, specifically version 20.0.016. This new firmware brings automatic screen rotation which works really well on the Nokia N82, not to mention a handful of bug fixes. Now there is no need to slide open the multimedia side of the slider to rotate the screen to landscape. This especially will come in handy when viewing the web and photo gallery.
So obviously this is great news for N95-2 users, but what the North American variant N95-4?
Will this be another case of Nokia leaving out North America when it comes to firmware updates? Obviously it's too early to tell since the N95-4 just got released under a month ago, but judging from the horrible position the N95-3 American owners are in - they may be on the same track. The N95-3 owners can't even get most Python applications to work, let alone flash lite 3 and demand paging. Take Ricky from Symbian-Guru for example - he has rightly complained numerous times about this and still nothing. What will it take? The Guru says, "(Note to readers - I’m finding it really hard to get upset about the lack of updates for the N95-3 anymore. I mean, it’s just getting tiresome mentioning it over and over and over again, with nothing happening. Nokia rocks at communicating, save for big lapses like this. This N95-3 update, if and when we get it, had better ROCK and bring something REALLY cool)".
Hopefully Nokia will do something minimal on their end to please their few but loyal North American Nseries fans.
