I've been very happy with my e71. I've learned to be careful to choose the right conditions and best lighting... and I find the camera to be better than acceptable. Looking at yours I think that a slight bit of color correction might boost the results (If I may be so bold to suggest :-) See what you think of my photo samples:

Nokia e71 is the smartphone runs fantastically with Symbian S60, is a business centric phone with its messaging features and full QWERTY keyboards. The Nokia E71 is fairly a smart looking phone simply due to its sparkly and silver design. Overall it’s the best phone for business people.

Wow... I've been interested in the E71 after seeing it a little while ago, and just recently checked prices on them on craigslist again, and they've come down considerably... but now as I've come around in my research to the camera tidbits, I must say that my previous smartphone - an HTC TyTN Pro running WM6.1 Professional with a 2MP camera - took WAY better photos than this. Even under somewhat-dimly-lit conditions, the quality looked noticeably superior to these shots. Perhaps I'll be looking at a different non-slider smartphone than the E71 after all... :-/
