Symbian-Freak.com is reporting that the N95 8gb is about to get another firmware update. This for sure is pissing off N95-3 owners who have been waiting for an update for a LONG  time now.

At first I was skeptical about the news of this new firmware - specifically version 20.0.016 since the news was posted at Symbian-Freak.com on April Fools Day. But I just caught a post from lightningjohn over at Howard Forums who also runs the Finest Fones blog. He gave a screenshot of the new firmware version. It looks like this rumor has become true.

The new firmware is supposed to bring automatic screen rotation like the Nokia N82 has, rendering Samirs RotateMe application useless. A handful of other improvements are coming as described below.

New features:
Automatic Screen Rotation (ASR)
Support for new combo memory added

Browser:
Improvement when creating a voice call from WAP page.
Improvements to embedded video functionality in browser.
Sending email via browser flash plugin improvements.

Messaging:
Mail in HTML format handling from Gmail IMAP server improved.

Connectivity:
WLAN connection stability improvements
BT connection stability improvements with certain BT headsets
USB connection stability improvements

Telephony:
Voice call handling improvements after certain type U.S.S.D message receiving.
Stability improvements to gallery for case when there’s lot of content in Gallery
Improvements to switch application
Voicemail icon handling improvements

Localization corrections:
Deletion of all contacts now possible even more than 6000 contacts in phonebook
Startup functionality improvements

Apparently you can only get this firmware at your local Nokia Care Center's and is expected to rollout onto Nokia Software Updater for everyone later this week.

Keep checking back for more updates about the new N95 8gb firmware.
