I know many would love to have a charger handy when going on trips and lugging around your laptop, or just for taking to work instead of your regular charger. I never knew this nifty device even existed. I guess you just plug your Nokia N95 or whatever other Nokia phone that has the same type of charger plug into your usb socket and charge away. I couldn't find any reviews on it around the net. I think I'm gonna pick up up to keep at work or for trips. Seems small and not very annoying with a short cord, something you can just grab and throw in your pocket on the way out. Seems as though you can get it for $20 or $30 bucks from Amazon or Target. Hi
I've had this USB cable for months now. My short review - sure, it does the job but the length is ridiculously short. Many a time I've been low on battery and a call comes in whilst connected by the USB charger, that I have to unplug it to take the call. Slightly irritating. Only down side to this handy gadget though, otherwise it does exactly what you expect. I just wish they'd given a bit more slack in the cable, perhaps on a retractable mechanism.
thanks for the info chris. bummer to hear that the cable is just too short. good to hear it does the job though.
how does the charging time compare to a wall charger and car charger?
thanks.
I should have measured it before and mentioned it in my last post, but in case you or anyone else is interested the actual cable length is 18cm (26cm overall length). Just in case that's important to anyone before buying.
As for charging time, I spend a fair amount of time on my PC so the time whizzes by, however quite regularly it gets to the point where my N95 beeps to tell me its fully charged.
I don't believe there is any difference in charging time between this and the AC mains adapter, though that is not a tried and tested fact, just my own judgement.
HTH
Chris
why dosent Nokia do what Motorola does, charging the phone via the same port as the data cable. My old L6 is able to charge while I move files around and save videos and photos...
